General conditions _ Interpretation

1.0 Client obligations

The task must be confirmed in writing. The Translation and Interpretation Manager will send the client a contract for the service required which must be completed. This must be returned by sending an email through the website: www.gb-communication.com or by fax to the number +39 06.45504281.

1.1 Privacy

Regarding the Interpretation service contract, our interpreters are forced to maintain the respect of the client’s professional confidentiality. Interpreters are required to respect all information communicated in non official meetings. This is also valid for any documents or electronic information handed to the interpreters in order to maintain and guarantee a professional service.

1.2 Release of services

In the case that the client wants to get out of the contract, G&B communication and Interpreters that have accepted the employment and reserved dates for work, can charge any costs that have been sustained during this time.

1.3 Professionalism of services

Interpreters are forced to maintain and exercise extreme professionalism in their own work. Their duties limit them as interpreters, as stipulated in the contract between parties. A part of this appointment will also consist of the scrupulous preparation of the forwarded documentation for the performance required, on the basis of the texts given by client.

1.4 Interpreter performance

Each Interpreter is personally responsible for their performance and is required to guarantee the privacy of the client. Any breach of arrangements for obligations by the Interpreter, will result in the termination of the client-interpreter relationship immediately. Considering that an interpretation performance can never have the quality of a written translation. The responsibility for any inaccuracy of the content of recordings or contents of the interpretation service is expressly excluded from this arrangement.

1.5 Documents and texts for Conference interpretation

The client will send the necessary texts for the conference interpretation service to the Translation and Interpretation Manager. The documents are to be complete in all parts and must be provided as soon as possible to the interpreter with an advance of 14 days prior to the event, in order to guarantee a professional service. The documentation will include an official programme, detailed agenda, specified report, informative brochures and the list of people attending the event and a list of speakers with the indication of their respective role and glossaries about the conference in order to achieve accurate terminology. The documentation must be sent in double copy for every interpretation box, any documents in different languages need to be included. If an expected text will be read during the conference, the client will is required to inform interpreters and forward a copy for each interpreter before the speech.

1.6 Documents for Interpretation

The client will send the necessary texts to the Translation and Interpretation Manager. The text is to be complete in all parts and must be sent as soon as possible in order to have time to check them and to guarantee a professional service.

1.7 Travelling expenses and accommodation

The client is responsible for the payment of the Interpreter’s travelling expenses, a ticket in 2nd class by train or an economy ticket by air. G&B communication can handle the booking of the air or train ticket and send a copy of the booking. Regarding the use of a private car, it will be debited 0.50 cents for every km travelled. The client is charged for any travel with a taxi or with public transport. The client is also responsible for accommodation charges.

1.8 Rights about recording

The performances of the interpreters are exclusively reserved for immediate listening. A recording is allowed only in the instance previous permission is granted by the Interpreter. The rights of the author and the interpreters will be reserved; the client is responsible for any illegitimate recordings for third parties.

1.9 Details about Interpretation

The working day is based on 7 hours with a minimum base-rate of 1 hour.

2.0 Payment

The payment of the agreed amount is required to be paid within and not over 2 days from the issue of the invoice. The payment can be made through Bank Transfer. The receipt of payment can be sent via email or faxed to +39 06.45504281. The payment of the remuneration occurs at the end of the charge for services, previous a deposit of 50 %.

2.1 Determination of a contract

The determination of a task from the client less than 8 days from the date of the beginning of the event , it involves the payment of the professional remuneration to the interpreter, and the reimbursement of the sustained expenses for the organization of the interpretation service.
